In 1979 M. Winslow Raburn and his partner Daniel Emerson founded Telos Graphics Workshop. Growth of the business led to the founding of Telos Publishing and Cimarron Printmakers as separate ventures. M. Winslow continued to develop Cimarron Printmakers as a primer and world-known fine art printmaking facility. We relocated from Mesa, Arizona to Amarillo, Texas in 2011 and expanded into a 9000 sq ft historic building on old Route 66. Our facility includes an inventory of 12 presses, with capabilities of all classic mediums.
Cimarron offers custom Lithography, Serigraphy, Etching, Letterpress and Monoprinting to artists and publishers. Cimarron has a thirty six year tradition of innovative printmaking with completed successful editions in Italy, England, Australia, Croatia, France, Switzerland, Japan; as well as U.S. artists and publishers in California, Arizona, Wyoming, Illinois, New York, Connecticut, Florida, New Mexico, Texas, and Washington State. We stress a creative and collaborative environment through all of our associations.
Raburn Studio is the personal studio and marketing venture of M. Winslow Raburn. His artwork has a broad audience throughout the United States. His works have been displayed through one man exhibitions in New York, NY; Houston, TX; and Scottsdale, AZ; as well as group exhibitions at the New York Art Expo and the L.A. Expo. Raburn's work has gained the attention of publishers such as the well-known Winn Art Group and Collector’s Edition. He describes his process as, "I'm essentially a romantic. I take the harsh reality of nature and idealize it in subject, composition, and color. The result is a vision of a place remembered, not how it exists in reality. The painting becomes a momentary nostalgic snapshot of those secret places we remember as children and adults."
Our involvement with the community is paramount to our future here. One of our primary goals is to provide a facility that will provide an outlet for emerging artists, graduating students, younger kids and to educate the local public about the growing and productive art world of Painting, printmaking, and glass blowing. Across the street is the San Jacinto Christian Academy and we have art students attend a painting event every year to introduce them to the passion of art and printmaking. From Grade school to high school they inspire themselves and us to think in a different perspective. Each month we host an event called “Last Friday Print Party” that is open to anyone and everyone that wants to experience the fun of printing and learning about the history of art.
